Nadia Lee – My Journey

I have been inspired by the profound intelligence of the physical body, since 2000. This eventually lead me out of the gym and onto the yoga mat, and even further still, to cultivating a meditation practice.

I made my first trip to the K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, Karnataka India in 2005 and was blessed to have briefly studied under K Pattabhi Jois (Guruji) for 3 months. I made a second trip in 2008 to study under Sharath. In 2013 I attended the Ashtanga Yoga Bali Conference in Ubud and studied with some of the most experienced Ashtanga Yoga practitioners of our time, which still continues to inform my practice today. I have had a regular Ashtanga practice since 2005.

For me yoga has been a journey into personal liberation through the physical experience of having a body. It has been a balancing act of letting go the need for physical agility and perfection (some dragons die hard). Just having a body is such a gift. The gift to explore the pain and the limits, and to still allow oneself to receive the sweetness too. It is through this personal experience that I believe this gift is accessible to everyone.

I aim to make Ashtanga-based yoga accessible to any body type, fitness level or age. I will teach you enough of a sequence so that whatever time and energy you invest with me, you will be investing in yourself, after which you will have enough knowledge to have your own self practice for as long as you choose to practice it.

It is a great privilege to be able to bear witness, and to hold space for you and your body.

I look forward to sharing this transformative practice with you.
